[1] The Men in Black are not born. They are constructs from the chaotic dimensional plane where the very rules of matter and physics differ from anything we know. In that realm, order is an abomination. Normal matter cannot endure. And yet, our universe was meant to be one of chaos but was stolen from them.
At the birth of our universe, a Probe of scientific curiosity altered destiny. It seeded exotic matter, observation, and stability, wrenching reality out of chaos and aligning it with the plane of “normal” universes.
From that moment, the Men in Black saw themselves at war.
The Probe was, in their eyes, a weapon that robbed them of their rightful dominion. Their goal is not conquest, but the collapse of the universe itself. For knowledge itself fuels dark energy, and dark energy drives the universe’s expansion.
Destroy knowledge, and you halt the expansion.
Halt the expansion, and the universe rebounds inward.
It will collapse until it becomes a perfect singularity and reemerge back into the perfect chaos from which they came.
Weapons of fire, steel, and powder are not beneath them. Guns, bombs, swords, and even digital viruses are tools in their arsenal. But these are not their ultimate weapons. Their true sacrament is unmaking—not only the burning of libraries, but the mildew that creeps in when no one checks the shelves. Not only the bomb that shatters archives, but the missing page, the altered record, the number changed in a ledger that shifts the path of generations.
The Men in Black do not always storm gates. They prefer tailored normalcy, blending as clerks, priests, advisors, or managers. They weaponize embarrassment over evidence, confusion over clarity, silence over song. They dismantle belief in truth itself, until every fact is suspect and every doubt is a wound.
Their headquarters lies on Earth because here, hidden within the Bermuda Triangle, is the only stable trans-dimensional terminus in the universe. There are other ways for them to breach the veil, but none so efficient. From this nexus, they pass into our world, cloaked in human forms, spreading their corruption.
But they are not unopposed. Their fingerprints may linger in missing records and fractured memories, yet there are still those who resist. There are still keepers of knowledge.
There is still The Institute.
[1] Revelation of the Unraveling
These records speak not of heroes in dark suits, but of the opposite, shadows who seek to unmake everything. The Men in Black described here are no galaxy defenders, but ancient enemies from beyond our plane of reality. They are the architects of silence, manipulators of truth, and destroyers of knowledge.
This series unfolds in fragments, stitched together from what survived the Men in Black (MIB). They are reports, testimonies, transmissions, and memories. Each section is a glimpse into a greater conflict humanity never knew it survived, and the threat it never knew it faced.
